Sheila launched "Second City, People First" to promote local businesses, tackle social-political issues, and advocate for food sustainability, including health and wellness events from Ewa Plains to Ko Olina. Haku Kapolei, a housing project threatening Kapolei's traffic. Based on surveys and door-to-door talks, the Makakilo, Kapolei, and Honokai Hale communities opposed the project, suggesting "Lei'po'o" to prioritize mental health near the Veterans Treatment Facility. The developers renamed it "Leiwili," reflecting our influence. Sheila also mobilized opposition to SB 799 ("Freedom to Read"), which hid the intent to bring pornography into school libraries, and HB 1118, Governor Green's bid to repeal kids' vaccine religious exemptions. Both bills "died", with amendments safeguarding our families. Sheila started the Hawaii Food Bank Drive (second Saturday, 7-8 AM, Kapolei High School), aiding those with mobility issues or seeking privacy. Sheila serves as Executive Director of Operations for Project Nehemiah (anti-human trafficking), and remains with One Impact Hawaii, while serving as a legislative aide for Rep. David Alcos (41st District). Sheila is on the Makakilo, Kapolei, and Honokai Hale Neighborhood Board to shape solutions.
